From a film of bodies in movement unfolding before our eyes, Dominique Douieb prints an instant picture, articulating its stillness to reveal mobility. Undressing the bodies, he bares their movements to study them better. He pilots each gesture through the intermediary of his lens, and firmly guides the bending and stretching of arms and legs to choreograph the dance of life. Borrowed from realist cinema, his connected slow-motion images show what speed cannot intercept: a well-controlled body opening the way to freedom.
