Examined close up, the familiar is reevaluated and redefined. With a new perspective, the human eye, mouth or chin takes on a new meaning or message. As his subjects dissolve into a white background, photographer Alix Minde transcends the physical as he contemplates the forms of the human face and head. Through a close focus and tight cropping, subtle contour, line and shadow are liberated from their physical confines and become avenues to deeper truths and beauty.
