Laurent Hamels has evolved from his native country Belgium, into a creative universe due to his studies at the Beaux Arts of St. Luc at Ličge. For the last ten years, in a dark studio with his team, Laurent Hamels has created colorful and shimmering photographic potions with sparkling splendor mainly for advertisement. The magic of his camera animates the objects that he photographs. Such is the sorcerer, he puts them on stage, makes them dance, stand up or roll...
The most obscured objects are magnified, the most menacing softened, the most mysterious transform themselves into masterpieces. Laurent Hamels immerses himself into the abyss of the world and rises back to the surface with strong symbols of the universe that he has visited and shares them with us. |
