These faces are like board games. A rather special kind of game in which all the pieces move simultaneously as soon as the dice are thrown. It is a game of expression. To play well, none of the key pieces should be missing because each part of the face plays a role in the expression at stake. Here, foreheads, eyebrows, eyes and mouths fold or unfold, rise or descend, open or close, stretch or contract, in a multitude of possible combinations, trifling with conventional expressions. Isabelle Rozenbaum gives them total freedom... of expression. The faces warm up to their game. All they lack is speech. The game has been won.
